Eisenhower Fellowships 2025 Global Program [Deadline: August 23]

Eisenhower Fellowships is excited to announce the applications are now open for its 2025 Global Program, an esteemed opportunity for visionary leaders across the globe. This nearly six-week program, which combines both in-person and virtual elements, will take place in the United States.

Selected Fellows will have the unique opportunity to:

  • Develop impactful projects that address global challenges.
  • Build lasting professional relationships.
  • Launch dynamic collaborations with American counterparts, fellow participants, and the extensive EF network of over 2,500 Fellows from 115 countries.

They seek candidates who:

  • Have a proven track record of leadership.
  • Show strong potential for future impact.

Eligibility:

  • Age: 32 to 45 years at the time of the fellowship.
  • Language Proficiency: Highly proficient in English.

Mandela Washington Fellowship 2025 [Deadline: September 10]

The Mandela Washington Fellowship will bring up to 700 young leaders to the United States in the summer of 2025 for a comprehensive executive-style program that is designed to build skills and empower Fellows to lead in their respective sectors and communities.

Benefits of the Fellowship:

  • Six-Week Leadership Institute: Participate in an immersive program at a U.S. college or university, where you’ll exchange experiences with U.S. citizens and fellow leaders from across Africa.
  • Industry Exploration: Broaden your expertise by exploring industries beyond your daily work.
  • Young African Leaders Summit: Engage in a summit that brings together African leaders for collaboration and networking.
  • Engagement with U.S. Leaders: Meet with influential U.S. government, civic, and business leaders.
  • Networking and Skill Development: Strengthen your work with new connections, skills, and ideas.
  • Alumni Network: Join a continental and global network to collaborate on innovative solutions to common challenges.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

  • You must be between 25 and 35 years old by the application deadline (September 10, 2024). Exceptional applicants aged 21-24 may also be considered.
  • Applicants must be citizens of one of the following African countries: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.

University of Michigan African Presidential Scholars (UMAPS) Program [Deadline: October 15]

The University of Michigan African Presidential Scholars (UMAPS) Program offers early-career faculty members from African universities an opportunity to advance their research and academic careers by spending several months at the University of Michigan in the United States of America.

The program hosts two cohorts annually: August-December and January-May. Applicants will have the opportunity to indicate their preference for a particular cohort during the application process.

Scholars collaborate with a U-M faculty member, using university resources to work on research projects, publications, or grant proposals.

The application cycle opens on August 15 and closes on October 15.

East African Community Youth Fellowship 2024 [Deadline: August 30]

The EAC Youth Fellowship is a prestigious program designed to engage and empower young people across the East African Community (EAC) region. Through mentorship, capacity-building activities, and networking opportunities, the fellowship seeks to develop the next generation of leaders dedicated to regional cooperation and development.

The fellowship will be focusing on two thematic areas;:

  • Youth in Politics: Re-inventing and entrenching youth leadership in public sector governance.
  • Youth in Business: Enhancing opportunities for young entrepreneurs and creating a “youth-friendly business environment,” including policies that support young business people.

Fellowship Benefits:

  • Mentorship Opportunities: Engage with experienced mentors who will provide guidance, support, and apprenticeship throughout the fellowship.
  • Regional Networks: Access a wide network of professionals, policymakers, and fellow youth leaders from across the EAC region.
  • Capacity-Building Activities: Participate in workshops, training sessions, and seminars focused on leadership skills, policy understanding, and regional integration knowledge.
  • Financial Support: Fellows may receive a stipend or allowances to cover their expenses during the fellowship period. Specific details will be communicated to successful applicants.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be between 18-35 years old.
  • Must be a citizen of an EAC Partner State and a resident in one of the EAC Partner States at the time of application.
  • A minimum educational qualification of a bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Applicants must demonstrate capabilities and/or understanding of regional integration, leadership, business, economic governance, or relevant fields.
